The most convenient route when traveling from either the NORTH or SOUTH towards Ormskirk is via the M6 Motorway. Exit the Motorway at Junction 26 and the join M58. Continue along the M58 and exit at the Junction 3 following the signs for Southport & Ormskirk. Turn right at the first roundabout, under the Motorway bridge.
You will come to another (smaller) roundabout. Go straight across and follow the signs for Ormskirk - Burscough B5240. Continue along this road until you reach a T-junction. Turn left at this Junction and continue along this road following the signs for Ormskirk (A577). You will come to signs for Westhead.
Follow the road though Westhead up the hill. At the top of the hill you will pass Ormskirk High School on the right. Approximately 100 metres further are traffic lights, on your left is Dicconson way.
At the traffic lights turn LEFT into Dicconson way and ahead you will see the main entrance to Ormskirk and District General Hospital , with the main car park opposite on the left.
The adult Minor Injuries Unit is beyond the Main Entrance to the right.
The Maternity Delivery Suite is at the back of the hospital. Follow the signs past the Minor Injuries Unit.
For the Children’s Accident & Emergency Department turn first right off Dicconson Way , it is 200 metres on the left. There is a lay-by for dropping off, and a car park a further 400 metres through the barrier.
